Kyocera International, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic 2 at our Vancouver, WA facility. Pay range: $23.51 to $36.17 hourly (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills). General Description of Position The Maintenance Mechanic 2 is responsible for efficiently and safely making a variety of machine repairs in the facility and completing required preventative maintenance tasks. This person may guide technicians, vendors, and hourly facilities employees on projects such as machine movement and complex tear downs. Maintenance mechanic duties include not only repair work, but also diagnosing the source of a production problem with a line, process, or heavy machinery. Maintenance mechanics inspect the product, diagnose the problem, and then perform the necessary repairs in a variety of settings. The Maintenance Mechanic is generally seen as highly knowledgeable on machine repair but tasks may vary widely throughout the locations.

Responsibilities

Completes a variety of complex repairs and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager or supervisor.

Troubleshoots process and facilities related equipment regarding electrical and mechanical problems. May explain repairs to Maintenance Assistants or vendors.

Overtime and weekend work is occasionally required for machine repairs and installations; ability to work independently without direct supervisor is required.

Completes assigned monthly maintenance for production and facilities equipment. May check the work of others.

Manages several projects simultaneously without direct supervision; may lead facilities specialists in projects.

Maintains administrative and production maintenance requests; SAP and email are used daily.

Assists facilities supervisor with coordinating on-site contractors; may serve as escort or guide for work completed.

Assists with building repairs such as painting, drywall, cleaning, polishing, and other repairs as assigned.

Performs 5S activities monthly; may assist other departments with duties.

Works with all Managers, Engineers, and department supervisors to ensure all equipment is maintained and operational.

Administers proper lock out tag out procedures for all repairs.

Utilizes knowledge in engineering, electrical, HVAC, water, plumbing, painting, and environmental activities.

Observes safety, environmental, ITAR, and P5S objectives; may train other staff and serve as a model for safe work procedures.

Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines in SAP.

Troubleshoots and maintains engines, conveyors, electrical systems, CNC machinery, pneumatic tools, and hydraulic equipment.

Reports safety problems immediately and may participate in safety investigations or committees.

May be trained in the company forklift safety program.

Uses dimensional tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers) to adjust machines or tooling as needed.

Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, orders, repairs, observations, and irregularities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

8+ years facilities and maintenance experience in manufacturing

Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic components and procedures

Ability to read blueprints or building drawings

Intermediate computer skills

Ability to pass drug screen and background check

Ability to stand and walk up to 100% of shift

Eligible to work in an ITAR environment

Performs other related duties as required or assigned

Physical and Environmental

Physical activities: continuously stand; frequently walk; occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; may lift up to 50 pounds, with varying frequent lifts.

Environment: exposure to moving parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles; moderate noise level. Reasonable accommodations available.
