The HVAC Technician III shall be responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, apparatus, and electrical components of machinery, equipment and the site by following electrical codes, manuals, schematics diagrams, blueprints and other specifications. Involves the hands-on assembly and disassembly of component parts and machinery in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives. Responsibilities

Responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, dismantlement and repairs to all types of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment including refrigeration compressors, pumps, condensers, air handling units, cooling towers and associated controls, wiring and piping. Locate source of trouble in HVAC equipment by testing and inspecting for mechanical or electrical failure. Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace, or adjust faulty parts, piping, and control wiring. Reassemble, test, and adjust equipment to obtain proper operating characteristics. Clean, paint and secure equipment for optimum operation. Make all necessary mechanical repairs and tests. Change filters as required. Fabricate parts as needed using machine and hand tools. Receive drawings, diagrams, specifications, and instructions for schedules and emergency work. Inspect and test HVAC equipment to determine extent of damage and repairs. Analyze drawings, wiring and pneumatic schematics to determine material or replacement needs and assembly methods. Plan procedures, determine tools and materials, and troubleshoot problems. Answer trouble calls. Consider safety precautions and plan work to minimize interference with operations. Maintain knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles, HVAC principles, and operation of equipment. Maintain performance and maintenance records of HVAC equipment. Utilize equipment and tools to maintain HVAC systems, including coil cleaning machines, tube punchers, jetters, torches, die injection, voltmeters and pressure gauges. Perform preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance on building equipment. Troubleshoot control issues and load programs. Perform other related duties such as Building Management control systems and inventory/repair parts management. Comply with information security policies and procedures. Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff. Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies. Complete required training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment and attend necessary meetings. Duties and expectations may change; hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule. Qualifications / Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required. ARl Certification for HVAC Technician-Type: Universal. Ten years of hands-on HVAC experience; knowledge of commercial HVAC applications. Strong familiarity with the National Electrical Code, New York State Uniform Building and Fire Prevention Code, National Fire Prevention Association and OSHA; preferred knowledge. HVAC knowledge: air-cooled units, controls, chillers, boilers, air filtration, ductwork, sheet metal, and related installation/repair. Electrical: experience with commercial/industrial systems, 3-phase 480/208V, motor wiring and control systems. Plumbing: copper, PVC, and piping; copper sweating proficiency expected. Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering and design drawings. Experience overseeing subcontractors and coordinating HVAC projects; strong planning and communication skills. Broad HVAC training with experience using testing equipment and knowledge of blueprints, electrical theory, safety and first aid, welding and fire alarm systems; plumbing experience is a plus. Proficient with common tools and testing equipment; customer service experience is a plus. Ability to act as lead HVAC Technician and mentor others; valid driver’s license with a safe driving record. Language Skills And Reasoning Ability

Effective decision-making, prioritization, and ownership of projects and improvements. Knowledge of electrical terminology and ability to read blueprints/drawings. Strong safety awareness and ability to communicate with management, staff and the public. Ability to write routine correspondence, develop presentations and reports; excellent interpersonal communication. Ability to interact well with customers and employees and resolve problems diplomatically. Good physical condition, manual dexterity and color perception. Physical Requirements And Work Environment

The work environment is typically moderately loud, with noise levels increasing when indoors in casino areas. Smoking may be permitted in some areas. Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all casino areas, including interior and exterior environments and high work areas. May require standing for long periods and working on ladders/scaffolds. Must be able to perform heavy manual work and work in temperatures ranging from below 32°F to above 90°F. Maintain stamina and composure to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment and communicate effectively with patrons and staff. Good eye-hand coordination, vision, and manual dexterity. Salary

Starting rate: $31.05 per hour. Compensation negotiable based on experience and education. Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
