Shift: 2:00pm - 12:00am
Pay range $25.00/hr – $32.98/hr (Gary, IN)
Job responsibilities
Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts.
Running diagnostic test on diesel engines and analyzing results for repair.
Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspension, steering, and exhausts.
Conducting field visits in the case of an emergency or sudden breakdown.
Performing preventative maintenance of SSI vehicles.
Vehicle wiring and reading wiring schematics.
Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance.
Deliver, pick up, and repair vehicles from our satellite branches.
Maintaining records of parts inventory and other serviced vehicles.
Rebuild pumps and vacuum systems.
Welding and fabrication as needed.
Requirements
3 years diesel mechanic experience, preferred.
Experience with diagnostic software and computer.
Knowledge of diesel engine components.
Insurable driving record.
Must own full set of mechanic tools.
Troubleshooting skills.
Organizational and multitasking skills.
Proficiency with DPF, EGR and DEF, preferred.
