Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Groveland, Florida.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: $32.00 per hour
Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter – four times per year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, Weekends OFF
Hours: Second Shift 1:00 pm – 9:30 pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational or Technical post‑secondary degree or certifications preferred
Basic tools required
Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and advanced repairs such as major engine, diesel aftertreatment, and fuel injection
Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all Tier 3 tasks
Advanced analytical and repair skills in vehicle maintenance
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Basic computer skills: PC, Windows, mouse
Lift ability up to 50 pounds
Availability for shift work, weekends and on‑call duty
Preferred ASE certifications in PM, Brakes, A/C, electrical, electronics or ASE Master Mechanic
Proficiency operating shop computers and diagnostic equipment
Minimum tool requirement
Road test of vehicles as necessary
Coaching/mentoring others
Must obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT Physical, Ryder Road Test, and background check
Responsibilities
Attend SBTIII training within 180 days (SBT220)
Complete all OEM on‑line diagnostic scan tool software courses within 365 days
Complete instructor‑led OEM courses as required
Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties—standard, preventive, complex—minimal support
Access and use internal & external maintenance documents
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical/electronic problems with minimal support; utilize diagnostic computers/software
Perform remote triage with RCRC and customers for roadside breakdowns
Perform facility maintenance duties
Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
Instruct and advise other technicians on procedures and diagnostics
Coach/mentor lower‑level technicians
Advise shop management and other technicians on shop repairs
Use shop management system and electronic documentation
Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (e.g., safety, DOT, MOT)
Support Service Island operations and other duties as required
