HVAC Sheet Metal Installer – Worker Overview
Hunter‑Davisson, Inc. is a commercial HVAC‑R Design Build Mechanical Contractor seeking a Journeyman Sheet Metal Installer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a team player who is highly organized, detail oriented, and demonstrates outstanding customer service.
Job Description Fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal equipment, distribution systems, and products.
Essential Job Functions
Interpret specifications, blueprints, and material schedules as needed to complete sheet metal installations.
Install assemblies in building or work‑site.
Interpret company policies and adhere to safety regulations.
Study schedules and estimate worker‑hour requirements for job completion.
Analyze and resolve work problems.
Maintain time records.
Minimum Requirements
Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy; perform a variety of duties which may change often and rate information using measurable standards.
Plan, lay‑out, fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal parts, products and equipment utilizing hand‑tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabrication, assembly, and installation of sheet metal products.
Select gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, aluminum, or non‑metallic materials such as plastic and fiberglass according to product specifications and SMACNA standards.
Outstanding verbal and written communication, organization and technical skills.
Related experience a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time during a regular workday.
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
Lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other climbing devices.
Carry tools and equipment.
Work while in stooped, kneeling, crouched and crawling positions.
Be able to see naturally with or without correction, to safely perform designated tasks.
