Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions, clutches, and related systems. Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems; inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using testing tools. Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation; manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck equipment; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections. Communicate with clients and management to assess needs, obtain approvals, and discuss RO findings; document work and parts used via company device and TRAIT app; complete DOT forms timely. Work independently, manage daily schedule, and maintain productivity within standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved vendors as needed and ensure safety, health, and environmental policies are followed (OSHA, EPA, DOT). Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; or 5 years in a related field. Own a set of hand tools required to perform job duties. ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months; ability to pass a DOT pre-employment background screen and DOT physical; valid DOT medical card depending on timing. Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce regulations; valid driver’s license; ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File. Preferred: ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, and T8/608/609 certifications. Skills & Abilities
Strong problem solving and decision-making based on new information. Physical ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and perform moderate to heavy labor; long periods of standing and walking. Effective oral and written communication; ability to determine tools and equipment needed; good spatial awareness and logical reasoning. Compensation & Benefits
Hourly base pay range: $31.30 – $46.97; compensation may vary by location and candidate. Weekly pay; discretionary incentive programs; potential for additional compensation.
