TFC oversees a diverse property portfolio including office spaces, storage, warehouses, parking garages, and grounds across 283 cities and towns in Texas. Our team provides design, construction, property management, landscaping, custodial services, recycling, waste management, building automation, and security services to support state operations. The Position: TFC is seeking a Maintenance Specialist III-V to perform general to advanced restoration, renovation, and maintenance work. Responsibilities include building repair, renovation, restoration, and alteration of general building maintenance. The role involves working under limited supervision with considerable independence. The ideal candidate will plan, schedule, and oversee building repair, renovation, and restoration projects. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2-4 years of related experience, and vocational or technical certifications in electrical, electronic, mechanical systems, plumbing, carpentry, or locksmith trades, which may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. The candidate should have knowledge of building maintenance, materials, fixtures, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and tools, as well as familiarity with the Uniform Building Code and Texas Accessibility Act. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, occasionally 100 lbs, work outdoors in various weather conditions, and navigate uneven terrain using ladders and lifts.
