Tool and Die Maker Apprentice

on our

First Shift

(Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm) at the Watertown, CT facility. As a Tool and Die Maker Apprentice, you will complete an 8,000-hour program to become proficient in various machining and toolmaking skills, including operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines, as well as heat treatment, assembly, and toolmaking. Wage schedules will be reviewed and adjusted based on milestone achievements. Responsibilities include: Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Using CAD software to design tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures. Selecting appropriate materials for construction. Operating machine tools with high precision. Performing heat treatments and assembling components. Testing, inspecting, and maintaining tools and dies. Collaborating with engineers and other professionals. Maintaining detailed records and adhering to safety protocols. Physical requirements:

Manual dexterity, physical strength, stamina for long standing periods, visual acuity, good hand-eye coordination, and adherence to safety procedures.
