Overview
Production Planner – Howmet Aerospace Inc., Rochester, NY. Salary range $75,000 – $95,000. Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement production schedules for multiple product lines, ensuring on‑time delivery, production, and inventory goals. Coordinate activities across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to resolve scheduling and quality issues. Develop the “ship plan,” maintain accurate line plans, and reconcile conflicts in Master Planner Systems to maximize customer service and inventory efficiency. Work closely with sales and marketing to develop plans that best service customers and support lead‑time quoting. Lead continuous improvement initiatives, resolve planning issues without supervision, and facilitate production and planning issue resolution. Perform additional tasks as needed to support manufacturing operations, customers, and suppliers.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent; +3 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment. Legal authorization to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility required at hire. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and computer skills (Windows, Excel, Word, Access). Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, JIT concepts, and MRP preferred. Demonstrated commitment to employee involvement, participative management, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
“Can do” mentality and ability to overcome obstacles. BA or BS in Business Administration. High energy, focused planning and organizing skills.
