Signal Processing Engineer | Ann Arbor, MI A fast growing technology organization developing advanced fiber‑based sensing and monitoring systems is seeking a Signal Processing Engineer to help design and optimize next‑generation classification pipelines.

You’ll work on algorithms that extract meaningful patterns from dense, continuous vibration data, transforming raw sensor feeds into actionable insight. The role blends classic signal processing with modern computational techniques and close collaboration with ML and data teams.

Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

What you’ll do

Design, prototype, and refine 1D/2D signal processing workflows to identify and enhance signals of interest within large, noisy datasets.

Apply and adapt techniques such as filtering, spectral analysis, correlation, and image‑like feature extraction.

Fuse outputs from multiple detection and classification pipelines to improve overall confidence and reduce false positives.

Work alongside machine learning and data engineers to integrate and validate algorithms in real‑world environments.

What you bring

Solid academic foundation in physics, mathematics, or electrical engineering.

Strong Python programming skills, including signal visualization and numerical libraries.

Experience in conventional and modern DSP methods, time-series or image-based feature extraction, and data fusion.

Familiarity with version control and collaborative software practices.

Experience in CUDA, Go, seismology, or distributed sensing will be valued.
