As our new Scientist/Engineer you will play an essential role on a cross‑functional team focused on air quality monitoring, permitting, regulatory compliance, and field data collection. Your work will help clients achieve their sustainability goals and meet changing regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Accurately develop and complete tasks for air quality monitoring, permitting, compliance reporting, and field data collection under the supervision of a Senior Project Manager.

Review and analyze environmental monitoring and operating data.

Interact with project team members to conduct field programs and prepare reports for review.

Provide technical understanding related to regulatory framework, engineering approach, investigation methods, etc.

Solicit work from SLR project managers.

Required Education/Qualifications

B.S. in Atmospheric Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or an equivalent scientific field.

Preferrably an advanced degree.

Valid driver’s license.

Ability to travel by airplane, helicopter, boat, and car, including overnight travel.

Ability to work in the field for up to two consecutive weeks at a time, or up to 30% of the time.

Good analytical, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Required Technical Skills/Experience

0–5 years of experience in air quality and/or meteorological monitoring.

Experience conducting PM10, PM2.5, NOx, SO2, CO, O3, CEMS, or meteorological monitoring for regulatory purposes highly desirable.

Data processing and analysis.

Familiarity with data acquisition systems, telemetry, and remote field monitoring systems.

Ability to self‑test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical systems.

Experience Reviewing and Interpreting Regulatory Requirements and Guidance

Knowledge of industrial facility operations and safety protocols desirable.

Preferred Technical Skills/Experience

Experience operating and maintaining air quality monitoring equipment.

Demonstrated familiarity with local and regional travel and shipping logistics.

Dangerous Goods shipping (IATA, DOT).

Experience solving environmental problems, calculating air quality emissions, and interpreting environmental regulations.

Attention to detail, including excellent proofreading and writing skills.
