We are hiring an Entry Level Diesel Technician Trainee. This role DOES NOT REQUIRE prior experience. We will train you on the job in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Ryder Careers Video Responsibilities

Move heavy duty vehicles into or out of yard, wash bay, service shop, or delivery to rental shop. Wash and detail vehicles; fuel diesel, natural gas, and hybrid vehicles; record fuel activity and maintain inventories and reconciliation. Use handheld devices to identify customer and required services. Perform multi-point inspections on inbound units as required by company policies; check tire pressure and tread, fluids, lights, wash vehicle windows, change tires, inspect refrigeration units, and report issues to the shop. Maintain fuel island area, perform facility maintenance, and complete minor maintenance tasks as assigned. Attend and complete Technician Training Development Program requirements and assessments (on-site and online). Training includes: Service Island Training: multi-point inspection, fueling and washing, environmental safety, safe driving, 6S organization. Technician I Training: preventive maintenance, tire and wheel, service bay tools. Technician II Training: HD electrical, air and hydraulic brakes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Zero to one year of mechanical experience with diesel engines preferred. Must be 18 years of age or older. Proficiency in English (written and verbal). Demonstrated customer service skills and strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn equipment and machinery. Ability to troubleshoot, work independently and as part of a team, and professionally represent Ryder to employees and customers. Time management and priority setting skills; good attendance and performance history. Competency in basic computer skills and Microsoft Office. Beginner knowledge of machines and tools; beginner knowledge of shop management systems preferred. Valid CDL Class A preferred; DOT safety regulated position; safety-sensitive position with state-determined age and hours. Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire; pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and background checks (3 years). Benefits and Equal Opportunity
