Overview
Universal Surveying & Mapping is seeking a full-time Survey Party Chief for our offices in Stillwater, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This position does not offer per diem. Candidates must be local! USM is a multi-disciplinary civil engineering and land surveying firm with expertise in land development, planning, transportation projects, utilities, construction inspection, and surveying solutions. Requirements
High School Diploma / GED Required. Knowledge of principles and practices of land surveying, with a working history in boundary, route/control, construction, data collection/topographic types of Surveys. Previous experience as Party Chief is a plus. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Must have a strong work ethic and be self-motivated. Must have a valid driver’s license. Duties include
Oversees field survey crew engaged in making plane and/or geodetic surveys for construction, topographic, right-of-way, control survey projects and mapping. Participates in pre-survey planning meetings with survey manager, resident engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and client representatives. Assigns and monitors work and provides input for evaluation of members of field survey crew. Instructs and trains survey crew in survey and mapping methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures. Gathers and performs field survey activities through use of surveying and mapping methods. Sets up, adjusts, and operates surveying equipment, including but not limited to, electronic total station, data collector, and GPS equipment, in order to measure distances, elevations, and angles. Prepares field notes and drawings. Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy. Provides survey and mapping information for Geographic Information System (GIS). Prepares finished grade sheets, topographic maps, records of survey, corner records, and other related documents.
