Electronics Technician 1
to join our
Security and Electronic Systems (SES)
business unit. As part of
SES , you will be involved in designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining electronic security services including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio-visual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems for federal, local, and commercial clients across high-growth markets. Responsibilities
Execute various technical tasks within field operations, including on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Ensure the functionality and reliability of technologies through site surveys, hardware/software configuration, system testing, and customer support. Field Technicians should possess strong problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and effective communication abilities. Follow project safety plans (JHA, AHA, PFW) and adhere to M.C. Dean policies. Analyze and interpret complete M.C. Dean drawing packages for constructability, accuracy, and completeness. Track and inventory tools, conduct inspections, and perform end-of-day tool inventories. Maintain cleanliness and safety at work sites, including regular tool inspections. Participate in daily ORM (safety) and project meetings to ensure safety compliance. Participate in PITCO plan creation and execution, including testing for quality assurance. Install system raceways, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware, ensuring proper grounding and NEC standards compliance. Terminate, test, and configure electronic devices, network, and IT equipment. Rack and stack head-end equipment, terminate cables, and perform accessories installation per industry standards. Communicate regularly with project teams, demonstrating dedication, punctuality, and preparedness. Collaborate effectively with team members, providing and receiving constructive feedback. Plan and prioritize tasks aligned with M.C. Dean’s vision, mission, and values. Maintain quality standards for all installation and testing tasks. Mentor and train junior team members on installation techniques, codes, standards, and best practices. Use Infralink and other tools to document daily work and track progress. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Qualifications
Clearance/Citizen Type:
Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements. Education: HS diploma or GED; Military Electronics Training (minimum 720 hours) required. Experience: At least 2 years of electronics installation and/or maintenance across multiple systems and customer programs. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Vendor certifications in IDS, ACS, CCTV systems, and experience with systems like Identiv/Hirsch Velocity, Bosch Radionics, BVMS, AIphone, FFT, DIVAR, Windows OS, and installation experience. Graduation from an Electrical Apprenticeship program. An additional 3 years of electronics installation/maintenance experience. Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
