Contributes to developing the Quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the Company and its supply chain. May undertake auditing to ensure compliance, although this may be carried out by a third-party accredited body. Provides training and champions the Quality Management System. Works on various phases or sub-tasks of projects or entire projects of moderate complexity, with results impacting project completion. Works under general supervision and/or on completion by Senior Management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee internal and external customer concerns (Ford, GM, Honda, Toyota, etc.). Assist the plant's internal audit system and the corrective action reporting system. Assist Quality Manager with hosting external Quality System audits. Assist the Quality Team in providing training on Quality issues and business processes. Coordinate the review of Quality procedures associated with plant continuous improvement initiatives. Promote the use of customer-preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis. Stay updated with current manufacturing and engineering trends concerning product quality. Undertake special projects as required. Write reports and present progress at project meetings and to clients. Plan projects or subtasks for tracking and presentation. Attend meetings and communicate instructions effectively. Independently determine approaches to assigned tasks. Train team members within the work group. Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and service providers. Possess strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, IATF16949, and ISO9001 standards. Understand engineering drawings and manufacturing processes. Skills and Experience
Relevant business, manufacturing, or engineering degree preferred, or 5-10 years of experience. Membership in industry-related professional bodies (e.g., ASQ, SAE) is advantageous. Experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing and Quality Assurance. Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing. Experience dealing with customers and suppliers. Familiarity with IMDS, Excel, databases, and AI tools like ChatGPT for data analysis. Core tools expertise: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC within the automotive industry. Organizational Culture
