HVAC Service Technician II-III
Location Atlanta office – serves metro Atlanta, GA area.
Job Summary Install, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Class 2 Service Technician
Basic understanding of
Basic troubleshooting and repairs
Able to read schematics
Able to diagnose refrigerant system issues
Understanding of psychometrics
Basic controls
Basic quoting skills
Class 3 Service Technician
Understanding of 5–100-ton unitary DX equipment, chilled water air handlers, CRAC, Pneumatic and DDC controls
Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills on 100-ton and less unitary DX equipment
Capable of all repairs needed on rooftop package equipment
Perform basic troubleshooting on air‑cooled chillers
Troubleshoot and repair water‑cooled package equipment
Diagnose problems using electrical schematics
Diagnosing refrigerant system issues
Basic understanding of variable frequency drives
Diagnose issues with variable air volume equipment (VAV’s/PIU’s)
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Trade/Technical School certification or degree preferred
Four to five years plus of commercial/industrial HVAC experience including exposure to control, compound and reciprocating systems as well as refrigerants
Valid driver’s license
EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of computer and tablets
Ability to work well in a team environment
Strong adaptability skills
Physical Requirements Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50+ pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work, and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes.
