Advanced Solar Field Service Technician (Operations & Maintenance) – Level II
We are Pearce, the nation's leading independent service provider for critical telecommunication and renewable energy infrastructure, with over 2,500 employees nationwide. We are seeking a dedicated field service technician to operate and maintain solar power plants near Becker, Minnesota. Core Responsibilities
Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of solar utility and sub-station equipment. Document work via work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency schedules. Use digital multimeters, megmeters, amp clamps, and other diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical components. Test and troubleshoot installed solar equipment, ensuring proper operation. Apply safety procedures including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). Work independently or as part of a team. Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally in accordance with company policies. Qualifications & Experience
Possess a valid Journeyman Electrician License or higher (REQUIRED). At least 1 year of commercial/industrial operations and maintenance experience on solar power plants. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Experience with inverters, tracker systems, or sub‑station equipment (TMEIC, SMA, Sungrow, Nextracker, ATI, etc.) is preferred. Ability to train, mentor, and develop apprentices. High work ethic and initiative in escalating site issues. Physical & Work Environment
Must reside within 50 miles of Becker, Minnesota. Exposed to outdoor temperatures. Capable of lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Availability for weekends, holidays, and on‑call service via phone/text. Travel may be required up to 50% of the time. Compensation & Benefits
Base pay range: $30,000 – $42,000 annually. Employees may be eligible for performance bonuses, referral incentives, tool and fuel stipends, and a company vehicle.
