Field Service Electrical Testing Technician
Marathon Electrical is seeking a Field Service - Electrical Test Technician with a minimum of 3 years experience in electrical testing/maintenance and/or medium voltage terminations and splices. The primary function is to provide field service and technical assistance to customers in startup, maintenance, and repair on power transmission, distribution and generation systems. Position requires limited supervision and self-management of assigned projects. Responsibilities
Perform acceptance and maintenance testing on low and medium voltage switchgear, low and medium voltage circuit breakers, instrument transformers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches, motor control centers, dry type and liquid filled transformers, ground systems, etc. All testing is performed per NETA standards. Operate testing tools and equipment including megger, digital multimeter, hipot tester, relay tester, GFI, TTR, primary and secondary injection sets, etc. Install live-front, dead-break T-body, and load-break elbow medium voltage terminations and medium voltage splices. Document services by maintaining records and writing technical reports detailing field work performed. Familiarity with the National Electric Code and standards such as NETA, OSHA, NFPA 70E. Qualifications
Valid driver\'s license with clean driving record. Ability to adapt to changing field conditions and travel regularly with home office in Pell City, AL. Ability to read and interpret electrical control schematics and diagrams. Theoretical understanding of electrical power systems and problem identification/evaluation. Fundamental understanding of electrical and mechanical testing procedures; familiarity with electrical test equipment. Experience performing extensive testing, problem identification, and troubleshooting; inspecting/servicing transformers, switchgear, and relays. Strong troubleshooting and start-up service background; ability to evaluate operating condition of equipment. Strong customer focus; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy and ability to generate detailed reports. Candidate must pass drug testing and a background check. Benefits
