Pay Range:
$36.00/hr – $45.00/hr DOE
Position Summary The Journeyman Electrician enjoys teamwork and reliability, is hard‑working, can lead, and adapts to varied environments. Responsibilities include safe and careful installation of company products at client sites, adherence to NEC codebook, blueprints, and project specifications, training and educating apprentices in NEC codebook use and practical application. Previous experience in oil and gas is a plus with general mechanical aptitude and tool familiarity.
Job Qualifications
Active Journeyman Electrician license required.
High school graduate or GED equivalent.
Basic AC/DC electrical fundamentals knowledge.
Preferred: PLC/RTU instrumentation and controls, ladder logic programming.
Preferred: lighting control system installation experience.
Preferred: oil and gas industry experience.
General mechanical aptitude and hand‑tool familiarity.
Preferred: technical college degree or technical experience.
Computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.
English speaking, writing, reading.
Valid driver’s license with good MVR.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Respond to emergency communications outages or problems.
Terminate high and low voltage equipment and cabling.
Read blueprints to determine scope of work and order materials.
Assemble and install electrical equipment (switchgear, conduit, cable tray, explosion‑proof equipment).
Train and educate apprentices on NEC code usage and practical application.
Apply NFPA 70E guidelines practically.
Communicate with customer and/or general contractor field.
Occasional travel by air or vehicle to out‑of‑state locations as requested.
Other Job Functions
Comply with safety procedures in fast‑paced environment.
Prepare, install, and service company products at client sites, including calibrations, troubleshooting, radio installations, instrument and controls programming, low‑voltage wiring, and tank/H2O measurement.
Maintain accurate records of hours, inventory parts, services.
Maintain strong customer service and relations.
Work Conditions
Operate safely in oil field environment.
Long periods at computer keyboard.
General office admin tasks (copying, filing, faxing, telephone).
Adverse weather (cold/hot) tolerance.
Work from elevated platforms.
Operate heavy equipment (scissor lifts, aerial lifts, backhoe).
Bend/cut conduit with hand saws, tube bending equipment, power/hydraulic devices.
Lift up to 60 lbs.
