Position Snapshot We are seeking a mid to senior level Process Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in oil and gas or specialty chemicals. Ideal candidates have served as a lead engineer on multi‑discipline projects, with mechanical engineering experience a plus.
What You Will Do
Lead process engineering and senior technical advisory across midstream, pipeline, and specialty chemical sectors
Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, and heat and material balances
Build and validate process simulations; perform hydraulic calculations, line sizing, and equipment sizing
Prepare engineering reports, specifications, datasheets, and calculations for process systems and equipment
Lead or participate in HAZOP, LOPA, PHA, and risk analyses
Conduct feasibility and economic studies, conceptual and front‑end design, optimization, and debottlenecking
Coordinate with project managers, discipline leads, clients, vendors, and contractors to deliver project scope, schedule, and quality
Conduct independent QA/QC of process deliverables and review other disciplines for alignment with process design intent
Review and respond to RFIs and third‑party vendor drawings
Perform field work to gather design information and support commissioning as needed
Contribute to proposals for engineering services and support business development
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Biochemical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
Minimum 10 years of progressive process engineering experience in midstream, pipeline, or specialty chemical environments
Strong foundation in process design and control, including development of PFDs, P&IDs, and H&MBs
Proficiency in process calculations, including chemical balances, pipe hydraulics and flow rates, compression, maximum intended inventory, and overpressure protection
Demonstrated experience with equipment sizing and specification for compressors, gas turbines, pumps, heat exchangers, dehydration units, storage vessels, separators, relief valves, distillation columns, and reactors
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer license preferred
Engineer in Training certification strongly preferred
Prior experience as a lead engineer
Mechanical engineering experience or exposure to mechanical design considerations
Experience in compressor stations, meter stations, crude oil booster pump stations, storage facilities, combined cycle power plants, gas sweetening, dehydration, and conditioning
Experience with process filters, separators, mixers, strainers, safety equipment, fire suppression, vapor recovery, flare and relief systems, meters, and control valves
Software proficiency: ProMax, Thermoflex or GT PRO, Caesar II, PipeSim, and Microsoft Office
Experience integrating company standards, municipal requirements, and regulatory codes into project deliverables
Tools and Methods

Relief valve sizing and contingency analysis
Atmospheric tank venting and emissions calculations
