Controls Service Technician - McKinney, TX
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Control Service Technician with expertise in troubleshooting field controllers, wiring, and building management systems (BMS). Ideal candidates are mechanically and technologically adept, detail-oriented, and possess strong client-facing skills. In this role, you will handle service calls, diagnostics, and repairs for BMS and HVAC controls, working across supervisory controllers to wiring endpoints. Must have a consistent work history.
Key Responsibilities
Cover all of Texas and Oklahoma – from Oklahoma City (north) through San Antonio (south), east to west.
Visit 5-10 sites daily – schools, churches, commercial buildings – starting from home each morning.
On-call availability for Sunday church services and during school-year windows (early mornings, late afternoons).
Troubleshooting, programming, and system integration on platforms such as Tridium Niagara, ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, and others.
Key Requirements
2+ years hands‑on DDC/BAS troubleshooting, programming, and service.
Proficient in ladder‑logic / PLC programming.
Experience with platforms like ABB/Cylon, Distech, Honeywell, Johnson Controls; knowledge of ABB, Belimo, Danfoss, Delta Controls, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Trane, Schneider Electric, Taco, Watts, Niagara (Tridium), ASCO (Emerson), Armstrong, Fisher (Emerson).
Understanding of mechanical system sequences and controls.
Quick learner for new systems and interfaces.
Valid driver’s license, insurable record, and willingness to relocate if needed.
