Tesla The position will be based in Sparks, Nevada at Tesla's Gigafactory in the Quality department. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills (problem-solving, soft skills) and demonstrated experience running or utilizing a broad range of tools and equipment (hard skills). They will work closely with manufacturing, Manufacturing Engineers, and suppliers to determine product specifications and tolerances and to establish processes and procedures that ensure consistently high quality. What You'll Do
Maintain product Quality plans and control plans, Quality performance metrics and drive issues to root cause solutions Audit manufacturing line against released manufacturing processes and procedures; assist in the identification and resolution of manufacturing quality issues, contain parts or products as needed, sort parts for quality requirements Monitor quality, determine the root cause of problems, and implement corrective actions and countermeasures Process and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as required and participate in ongoing optimization of products with respect to cost and production technology Participate in continuous improvement activities with manufacturing and external suppliers; work with Supply Quality Engineering and suppliers to develop specifications that support production requirements Provide design for Manufacturability feedback to Engineering; participate in DFM reviews and analyze and disposition component and product defects as a member of the Material Review Board Analyze and interpret data, anticipate potential problems, take preventive action, and support PFMEA activities to ensure risks are identified and mitigated What You'll Bring
Experience within quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment (QS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DFMEA, PFMEA preferred; GD&T knowledge helpful) Experience with problem-solving and root cause analysis; strong aptitude for electronic test and measurement systems Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams; knowledge of Lean Manufacturing practices (5S, TPS, TQM) highly desired Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment; ability to lift and sort parts up to 30 pounds as needed Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills; familiarity with basic MS Word/Excel Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data; proficient with standard PC software Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal Benefits
