Summary
Certification & Source Inspection Clerks are specialized quality control inspectors responsible for preparing casting certifications for part shipment.
Responsibilities
Compile data and review casting certifications for part shipment.
Perform diversified duties to review orders, source inspection presentation, and obtain approval from visiting customer inspection personnel.
Receive and process all returned castings, determine reason for customer rejection, and initiate rework and salvage.
Maintain records including dates, reasons for rejection, rework required, and final outcomes.
Assist visiting customer inspection personnel and perform any extra operations necessary to attain approval.
Perform required tasks to package castings for shipment as necessary.
Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual conditions to proper supervision.
Follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
Must know and follow all departmental and company safety rules.
Must follow prescribed safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Must perform other duties as assigned.
Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in all designated areas of the facility.
Must report any work-related injury or illness immediately to the direct supervisor.
Must meet established attendance standards, work overtime as needed, and perform all physical functions of the position.
Must stand, stoop, bend, sit, walk, twist, turn, kneel, and lift materials up to 35 lbs.
Physical Requirements Standing, walking, twisting, turning, lifting up to 35 lbs. Accurate record keeping, use of weigh scale or similar equipment, and specific vision abilities including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
