Lead Blade Repair Technicians
with extensive category 4 & 5 repair experience. Location:
Throughout USA (and potentially Canada) | 100% travel on a rotational basis. Position Type:
Full-Time Employee or Contractor. Job Responsibilities:
Travel 100% to wind farms across the U.S., via air or truck (Canada travel is a potential option). Lead and mentor technicians in proper composite blade repairs, up to Category 5 complex or specialty repairs. Perform expert composite blade repairs on-site using platforms, ground, or rope access. Conduct epoxy and polyester resin wet lay-up, vacuum infusion, balsa, and foam sandwich material repairs. Perform structural blade repairs as required. Complete detailed daily progress reports and QA/QC documentation, adhering to quality checkpoints. Conduct onsite stock checks. Demonstrate leadership within the team. Assist the site lead and project coordinator as needed. Job requirements:
We are looking for reliable technicians with the following skills and training: 5+ years of high-quality composite repair experience on all types of blade repairs. Experience with safely using and setting up 360-degree and 2M basket platforms. Certification with IRATA or SPRAT rope access is a plus. Knowledge of epoxy and polyester resins, wet lay-up, and vacuum bag techniques. Experience handling balsa and foam core materials. Understanding fiberglass reinforcement and structural repair. Ability to safely operate powered hand tools. Knowledge of repair specifications considering wind speeds, temperature, and humidity restrictions. Ability to read complex technical drawings and processes. IT literacy (email, internet, iPad). Willingness to travel extensively and spend time away from home. Flexibility to adapt to scope changes. Ability to work well as part of a team and take guidance. Valid driver's license with a good MVR report. Must be 21+ to drive a company vehicle. Valid passport is a plus. Physical capability to climb ladders (up to 300 feet/90 meters), bend, crawl, stoop, and lift up to 75 pounds. US/Canadian citizens or those legally eligible to work in either country.
