Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position works independently or with others in analyzing and developing solutions to the manufacturing processes at our Holyoke, MA site. This includes design and development of new processes, modifications of existing processes, cost improvement initiatives, and quality improvement projects. Responsibilities
Develop improved methods for delivering finished products to customers. Identify and drive cost improvement projects to reduce costs in current and new operations. Serve as the primary technical lead for process and equipment improvement projects. Oversee equipment modifications, upgrades, and new installations from a technical perspective. Collaborate with customers, T&I, Business Unit Leaders, and other Process Engineering functions to address process issues, quality concerns, and identify new or improved products or methods for value-added solutions. Stay abreast of new equipment and process developments in the Plastics Extrusion field. Share knowledge with process engineers at other locations. Serve as an expert in troubleshooting manufacturing problems and use data-based decision making to identify solutions. Develop work instructions and documentation to support standardized work in manufacturing. Identify and implement new or improved methods of manufacturing to improve profitability. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. 3-5 years of experience in Process Engineering. Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation and negotiation skills. Experience with varied manufacturing processes; plastic/foam extrusion and converting preferred. Knowledge of statistical techniques and tools, their use and interpretation. Ability to manage a project and process involving multiple manufacturing areas. Ability to work independently and focus on critical project parameters that determine success or failure. Knowledge of statistics and DMAIC methodology preferred. Designed experiments, Lean Six Sigma, SPC or equivalent experience preferred. Self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Safety Requirements
This role operates in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated environment. Prior PSM experience is not required; however, candidates should be comfortable working in compliance-driven settings with strict safety and regulatory standards. Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings. Report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately. Works around rotating equipment, hot polymers, and high noise environments. Required to wear safety shoes as well as standard PPE. Exposed to various chemicals throughout the site. Salary Range
$80,500-$120,700 The range disclosed complies with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Offers within this range will be determined by considering relevant factors including education, experience, and internal alignment. This position may also be eligible for annual performance bonuses and other incentive programs.
