Job Description The Mill Machinist operates Multi‑Axis Mill and Lathe machines, including parts loading/unloading, inspection, tool holder preparation, preventive maintenance, and data entry. The role requires continuous operation, problem detection, and effective communication with supervisors, engineering, and shop personnel.
Primary Responsibilities
Set up and switch jobs as required.
Produce efficiently within standard time allotment.
Track materials, scrap, and corrective actions.
Maintain machine and inspection gauges.
Run and maintain 2+ machines in a manufacturing cell.
Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards.
Provide miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
High ability in machining and understanding of machining processes.
High School Diploma or equivalent (documentation required).
ITAR definition of US Person(s) (documentation required).
Read and run parts to spec on multiple machines.
Read simple part drawings; use micrometers, dial calipers, height gauge, scooter gauges, computers, and indicators accurately.
Calculate dimensions and tolerances; follow verbal and written instructions.
Communicate information verbatim and in writing in English.
Perform any other task as required.
Pass pre‑employment drug testing.
Preferable Experience 3 – 5 years of Lathe machining experience.
Physical Demands/Work Environment Regular standing, use of hands and arms, lifting 35–50 lbs occasionally, close vision and depth perception. Work in a loud environment; personal protective equipment required.
