— Immediate opening for a permanent full-time Master Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet in Charlotte, North Carolina. Responsibilities
SBTIII trained within 180 days (SBT220). Complete all OEM online diagnostic tool software courses as required by location fleet mix (completed within 365 days). Complete instructor-led OEM courses as required to support location fleet mix. Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties including: Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems with minimal support, using diagnostic computers/software when applicable. Access and use internal and external maintenance documents. Remote triage with RCRC and customers to determine best solution for roadside breakdowns. Perform facility maintenance duties and interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue. Instruct and advise other technicians regarding maintenance procedures and diagnostics. Coach/mentor other level technicians and advise shop management on shop repairs. Utilize Shop Management System and electronic documentation; comply with all applicable safety and regulatory guidelines. Other duties as required to support operations, including service island support. Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational/technical certification preferred. Basic tools required. Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including: Routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work). Diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems. Major engine repairs, diesel aftertreatment, or automotive fuel injection repairs (required). Four (4) years or more relevant work experience preferred. Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A preferred. Other certifications as required by location. Additional Requirements
Ability to perform all T3 tasks and demonstrate advanced analytical/repair skills. Effective interpersonal communication; basic computer skills (PC, Windows). Lift up to 50 pounds; ability to work shifts, weekends, and on-call as required. ASE certification in PM/Brakes/A/C/electrical/Electronics or ASE Master Mechanic preferred. Operate shop computers and diagnostic test equipment proficiently; have minimum tool set. Road test vehicles as necessary; demonstrated ability to coach/mentor others. Important Note
