Winter Services, a leader in the snow removal industry, is seeking a full-time, year-round
Fleet Mechanic
in the WI area. The Fleet Mechanic inspects and repairs company vehicles and equipment (trucks, plows, heavy equipment, etc.) and performs preventative maintenance to ensure inventory is running to the best of its ability and safe for next season operations. Responsibilities
Maintains vehicles, including a company fleet of trucks, heavy equipment, and related assets. Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups. Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identifies mechanical problems. Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical components. Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance. Visits job sites and other facilities to inspect vehicles. Has a working knowledge of DOT requirements. Test drives vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements
A valid driver's license; CDL B preferred. Candidates must have availability to work long shifts during the snow season. A strong work ethic and positive attitude. Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidate must possess a strong background in brakes, suspension, exhaust and emissions, light fabrication, hydraulics, electrical systems and diagnostics. Prior knowledge of skids, loaders, tractors, etc., is a plus. ASE/other certifications are preferred but not mandatory. Benefits
