This is an OJT (on-the-job training) position available through Workforce Solutions Capital Area. All candidates will be considered after program eligibility is confirmed. Owner - Jin Yan Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, programming, and documenting for VMC's, HMC's, and CNC Lathes using Virtual Gibbs Software. Responsible for all jobs before, during, and after operation on the machine shop floor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manufacture products that meet quality requirements. Inspect and verify work prior to submission for inspection. Demonstrate capability and aptitude to learn and teach various welding techniques using GTAW (TIG). Use Argon gas and TIG Welding procedures to connect metal components. Know proper weld settings and filler rod selection for welding various materials. Meet time and schedule standards for assigned tasks. Keep equipment clean and maintain proper fluid levels. Use TIG welder to assemble fabricated metal products efficiently to maximize production. Assemble, hold to tolerance, and manufacture products that meet quality standards; inspect and verify work prior to submission. Return all fixtures and tooling upon job completion. Advise supervision of issues that arise. Make routine decisions and use problem-solving skills to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance. Assist the shop with general upkeep. Weld with TIG in all positions: vertical, horizontal, flat, and using a turntable. Weld with gas purge. Set up welding equipment (amperage, voltage, wire speed, etc.) to maximize efficiency and effectiveness. Record and track daily operations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Problem-solving skills involving concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to operate various shop tools. Organizational and time management skills. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize independently. Ability to use inspection gauges. Educational/Certification Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent work experience. One-year certificate from college, technical school, or AS in welding preferred. TIG Certification is a plus. Experience Requirements:
5+ years of TIG welding experience. Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Work primarily in manufacturing and office environments. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, grasp, and have visual acuity. PPE must be worn where applicable. Exposure to noise and weather conditions is possible. Travel may be required for training or meetings.
