Review construction contract documents and coordinate with sub-contractors and General Contractor/owner to gather the required information to design the project’s sprinkler system Use analytical thinking and problem solving to determine construction feasibility and systems possibilities Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD, or similar programs Create stock list for all material required throughout the project Perform hydraulic calculations Develop initial schedules for preliminary project work Maintain design and historical records for future use Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper handover of job information Ensure change orders/change estimates are completed in a timely manner Monitor project billings for accuracy and maintain positive cash flow Assist or lead during field check stages Ensure work complies with codes and permits Administer construction contracts, approve work quality and payment requests Report to owner and general contractor about progress and any necessary modifications Job Qualifications
NICET certification required. Either “In Training”, or NICET Level I, II, III, or IV certified Demonstrated ability with AutoCAD, AutoSprink, HydraCAD, or other fire sprinkler layout software Proven ability to perform work in a timely manner and meet deadlines Three years of construction industry experience with knowledge of Fire Protection Three years’ experience in commercial, industrial, and residential design Detail-oriented with ability to coordinate and work with others Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must pass a post-offer drug test, background and reference check Must be willing to relocate to Boise, ID if not already located in the area Equal Opportunity
