Dispensing Optician – WINDSOR EYE CARE, LLC
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Dispensing Optician to help customers select, fit, and purchase eyewear based on prescriptions from eye doctors. The role focuses on ensuring customers receive accurately fitted and comfortable glasses and contact lenses.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service: Greet patients, listen to their needs, and explain various lens and frame options (materials, coatings, styles).
Eyewear Sales: Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that match their lifestyle, prescription, and budget.
Prescription Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret prescriptions written by an Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.
Measurements & Fitting: Take precise facial measurements (e.g., Pupillary Distance – PD) and adjust finished glasses to ensure a perfect, comfortable fit.
Contact Lenses: Teach patients how to properly use, clean, and care for their contact lenses.
Administrative Tasks: Create work orders, manage patient files, process payments, and handle insurance claims.
Repairs: Perform minor frame repairs and adjustments.
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification (if required by state): Active state dispensing license or ABO/NCLE certification preferred.
Attention to Detail: Ability to take precise measurements and interpret complex prescriptions.
Excellent Communication: Strong ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.
Customer Focus: Friendly, patient, and dedicated to providing a great customer experience.
