Job Summary Within a Phlebotomy float role, you will be assigned to cover duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or other locations. Tasks include drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, collecting specimens such as drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams, entering billing information, collecting payment when required, and providing coaching and mentorship to new employees.
Schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with rotational weekends.
Responsibilities
Assigned a territory to cover phlebotomist duties within a Patient Service Center, doctor’s office, or as business needs dictate
Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing
Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams)
Enter billing information and collect payment when required
Coach, mentor, instruct, and be a resource advisor for new employees; act as point of contact on site and provide regular input to the group lead or supervisor
Travel to additional doctor’s office or Patient Service Center sites when needed
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Three years phlebotomy experience required (inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred
Keyboard/data entry experience
Effective communication in English
Compensation Pay range: Minimum of $19.72+ per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications obtained. Successful candidates may be eligible for annual performance bonus compensation.
