Medical Office Nurse LPN - ENT (Midland)
Eligible for a $2,500 Sign On Bonus for a two‑year commitment.
Under direct supervision of the provider, will be responsible for patient assessment and care, and maintaining appropriate documentation. This position requires basic knowledge of specialty and/or primary care and the ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients. The role involves coordinating care to assure high‑quality, compassionate patient care and overseeing patients at the office locations while acting as liaison with other organizations and departments.
Responsibilities
Triages all calls, schedules daily urgent/emergent add‑ons, receives and relays test results, supports, directs and refers patients for consults and/or testing and insurance pre‑certification and documentation.
Greets patients and/or family, performs routine pre‑examination procedures including vital signs, assesses and records objective and subjective data concerning presenting condition, maintains accurate patient record, performs medication reconciliation and enters allergy reactions.
Assists provider with examinations and procedures.
Prepares and cleans the patient area, sets up equipment, disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes medical instruments.
Provides complete patient assessment within scope of practice, performs patient care measures including injections, minor dressing changes, obtaining blood specimens, and assists with procedures such as EKG, PFT, ABI, NST.
Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co‑workers, travels to satellite clinics if applicable.
Operates office computer systems (MAPS, MCIR, EMR, LIS, dictation systems, etc.) and demonstrates critical thinking for patient management.
Maintains confidentiality and ensures patient rights in compliance with HIPAA.
Performs clerical duties such as filling out insurance forms, arranging hospital admissions, answering telephone, updating patient records.
Orders supplies and medications and maintains accurate documentation and coding of patient conditions.
Participates in annual quality reviews and provides age‑specific care for the population served.
Other related duties as assigned.
Certifications and Licensures
BLS – Basic Life Support (required)
LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse (state of Michigan license required)
Required Education Technical Certificate in Nursing (or equivalent).
Required Experience Within 3 months of hire or transfer: knowledge of nursing technique normally acquired through completion of an LPN program and holding licensure in Michigan.
Additional Qualifications
Working knowledge of Infor Lawson, EMR and practice management programs preferred.
Knowledge of medical office policies, practices and procedures from 3–5 years in a healthcare setting.
Annual OSHA training and TB testing required.
Proficiency in Excel and Word.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Physical ability to lift 20–50 lbs. and perform prolonged standing/walking, stooping, kneeling; tolerance for back‑pain.
