Overview The Structures Company, LLC is a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.
Responsibilities
Support and lead cybersecurity initiatives focused on secure boot, firmware security, and hardware root of trust for embedded systems.
Develop, configure, and test secure boot loaders, firmware encryption, hashing algorithms, and update mechanisms.
Implement and validate hardware root of trust features, including fuse configuration and testing.
Manage firmware update and recovery processes across the product lifecycle.
Develop and maintain user-space APIs for PolarFire encryption and hashing algorithms.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, firmware, hardware, and software teams to integrate and verify security features.
Provide training, documentation, and vendor coordination to ensure robust security implementation.
Stay current with evolving secure boot and firmware security technologies and best practices.
Requirements
Secret Clearance required to start
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity, electrical engineering, or related field
7+ years of experience with secure boot loader development and UEFI Secure Boot
Expertise in firmware security, encryption, hashing, and hardware root of trust
Experience with PolarFire FPGA firmware or similar platforms
Proficiency in C, C++, Python, Bash, and firmware update/testing processes
Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and coordinate with vendors
Familiarity with safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262, or similar) preferred
U.S. Citizen as defined by ITAR
