The Manual Machinist is responsible for modification and operation of industrial manual machinery on large pump parts to precise specifications. The position develops and maintains these parts utilizing knowledge of metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The successful candidate will have experience machining on equipment such as Vertical Turret Lathes and/or Manual Lathes or Horizontal Boring Mills. Responsibilities

Machining large pump components such as cases, impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers. Read and interpret blueprints; compute angles, radii, bolt circles and other dimensions. Hold close tolerances (±0.001"). Experience with plane and bore of horizontal pump casings is a plus. Overhead crane experience. Operate and maintain manual/semiautomatic machining equipment as required. Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of machining experience required; journeyman status or equivalent preferred. Experience in the pump or rotating equipment industry strongly considered. Ability to read blueprints and perform precise measurements. Manual Machining: 5 years preferred, 3 years minimum requirement. Knowledge of metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
