Maintenance Technician
based out of our Asheville, NC plant location working 12 hour day shift!
Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic individual who will be responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, and overhaul of mechanical systems used in production. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assembling and maintaining equipment to ensure they are meeting production and quality expectations. This includes, but not limited to, performing preventative maintenance, and trouble-shooting equipment related issues. The Maintenance Technician should be knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures associated with the industry and company standards.
Responsibilities
Safety: maintain a safe work environment through training, adherence to policies and housekeeping Fulfill the requirements of daily work orders Start up and troubleshoot of the process related issues with production equipment, tooling, and auxiliary equipment Ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality Fabricate, build, clean, and repair as the need arises Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to motors, pumps electrical, and hydraulic issues Train and teach Process Controllers Collaborate and assist with production material trials and new products Supervise and maintain output and run conditions to specified standards Regularly inspecting, cleaning and performing preventative maintenance on machinery to keep in quality working order Using hand tools such as, but not limited to power tools and rigging equipment Operation of heavy industrial equipment, including but not limited to, saws, pullers, bellers, forklifts, and bucket lifts Complete accurate documentation and quality requirements Build an extensive knowledge of the operation, safety features, and process steps Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of failures or future issues Other duties as delegated
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED preferred 2-4 years' experience as a Maintenance Technician Experience working with extruders preferred Experience using Powered Industrial Vehicles and hand tools Good interpersonal skills
Physical requirements
The ability to lift at least 50 pounds Ability to stand, lift, and perform for long periods The ability to wear all required PPE including but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection Ability to work 12-hour shifts Ability to perform repetitive motions
WORKING CONDITIONS
The physical effort required is considerable due to heavy physical activities of various kinds. The physical environment is considered moderate due to exposure to various substances or equipment this includes but is not limited to, moving machinery, repetitive motions, noise, powered industrial equipment. Regular work is performed in a non-controlled temperature environment. These exposures could produce discomfort and/or moderate risk of accident or ill health. The sensory attention is considered moderate due to often requiring increased demand on two or more senses at a time. The mental stress is considered moderate due to regular pressures from deadlines, quotas and accuracy.
