The
Mechanical Assembly Technician I
plays a pivotal role in the assembly, mechanical setup, and light wiring on our packaging machines. This position requires a proactive approach to ensuring compliance with the company\'s ERP system while supporting production and project reporting. The Mechanical Assembly Technician I will manage job tasks efficiently and maintain the integrity of the customer database. A deep understanding of both company and customer technical needs is essential to successfully meet objectives and deliver outstanding results. Key Role Areas (KRA)
Basic Assembly Quality Standards Technical Expertise Continuous Improvement Job Duties & Responsibilities
KRA # 1 – Basic Assembly
Proficiency in assembly techniques. Demonstrate the ability to correctly follow assembly instructions and diagrams to assemble components or products accurately. Tool handling skills. Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools required for assembly tasks. Material Identification. Ability to identify various materials and components used in the assembly process. KRA #2 – Quality Standards
Adherence to Quality Guidelines. Maintain strict compliance with established quality standards and specifications during the assembly process. Inspection Skills. Conduct basic inspections of completed assemblies for defects, ensuring that all products meet quality benchmarks before they are passed on the next stage. Documentation Practices. Accurately document and report any deviations from quality standards, including any corrective actions taken. KRA #3 - Technical Expertise
Understanding of Assembly Processes. Basic understanding of the overall assembly process, including key workflows and operational requirements. Problem Solving Abilities. Ability to recognize and troubleshoot minor issues in assembly, escalating complex problems to a higher-level technician as needed. Safety Awareness. Knowledge of workplace safety protocols and personal protective equipment pertinent to assembly tasks. KRA #4 - Continuous Improvement
Participation in Training Initiatives. Engage actively in ongoing training opportunities aimed at improving assembly skills and understanding of best practices. Feedback Contributions. Provide constructive feedback on current processes and suggest improvements aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing waste. Team Collaboration. Work collaboratively with team members to share knowledge and skill, facilitating a culture of continuous improvement within the assembly area. Qualifications
Proven experience in maintenance and wiring in a related industry. Understanding of production and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the process. Problem solving and troubleshooting abilities. Understanding of safety regulations and industry standards. Excellent communication and teamworking skills. High School diploma or equivalent; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is preferred. Desired Skillset
Critical Thinking Detail Oriented Ability to read technical drawings Knowledge of Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing techniques Previous experience with troubleshooting and maintenance. 1-2 years Core Values
