Supervise day-to-day pile-driving activities for construction projects, ensuring their successful completion. This includes communicating potential challenges and problems as well as job equipment, material, and personnel requirements. Operate and maintain pile driving equipment, including diesel hammers, hydraulic vibratory hammers, and extractors. Manage barge positioning and crane operations for pile installation. Train and oversee crew members in pile driving techniques and safety protocols. Coordinate project objectives and plans with Russell Marine craft and other trades. Complete all necessary daily job logs and maintain accurate records of pile driving operations. Attend required meetings and trainings. Maintain a good working relationship with the Superintendent or Project Manager, seeking assistance in scheduling materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Promote Safety and Environmental initiatives that will contribute to compliance with State and Federal regulations and improve existing Company programs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be willing/eligible to obtain one upon hire. Must have a valid driver’s license. Minimum of five (5) years in pile driving construction. Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership capacity. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to read construction plans. Knowledge of practices and materials involved in pile driving construction, general equipment, cranes, and rigging. Bilingual (English and Spanish). Preferred Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years in marine pile driving construction and working on barges or job sites. Leadership: Minimum of three (3) years in a leadership capacity. Knowledge of marine operations such as welding, crane operations, barges. Intermediate knowledge and understanding of basic construction terms and concepts. WORKING CONDITIONS
The individual must be able to perform the job's essential functions with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. The individual frequently works near moving mechanical parts and must be able to adapt to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration. The individual may be required to work long hours and/or weekends. Additionally, some out-of-town or overnight travel may be required. The individual may occasionally be required to sit in a vehicle for up to 8 hours. The individual may be required to walk, step, climb, or otherwise move from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters. The individual may occasionally be required to stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, climb, or sit for long periods. The individual may be required to work in confined spaces, climb vertical ladders of a height of 6 ft. or greater, and/or elevated heights. The individual may be required to lift objects with a minimum of 10 lbs. and a maximum single-person lift of 50 lbs. The individual may be required to perform repetitive movements with feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands, and back in work performance.
