Overview
Senior Construction Inspector (Paving) – WSP in the U.S. This opportunity supports WSP’s work in New England, focused on infrastructure improvement and professional careers in construction management and inspection. The role oversees urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects with construction values ranging from $1–$25 million. This position can be based out of Portland, ME; Augusta, ME; Eliot, ME; Merrimack, NH; or Waterbury, VT. Responsibilities
Oversee various work elements including asphalt shimming, milling, reclaiming, filling, compacting, drainage improvements, striping, and other incidental items. Report to the Resident Engineer and potentially act as their representative based on experience. Interface with contractors and attend meetings. Mentor or supervise other inspectors, on behalf of the resident engineer or project manager. Complete daily reports and measure and calculate unit price quantities. Coordinate independent material sampling and testing. Monitor maintenance of traffic and take/compile photographs for tracking daily progress. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies. Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma 7 years of applicable experience Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications Valid driver’s license Proven safety record and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and harassment policies Preferred
Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field Proficiency with MS Word Suite NETTCP HMA certifications or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring Experience with construction management software (Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar); knowledge of Bluebeam Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience may be considered About WSP
