Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Charlotte, North Carolina (NC). Responsibilities
Develop concepts and work on preliminary engineering and final design for projects, including geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading, drainage, superelevation, construction details, work zone traffic control, erosion control, signing, and striping plans. Create technical drawings and plans using CAD software. Review and quality check complex drawings and plans, perform calculations as needed. Perform tasks with minimal supervision, suggest design changes based on engineering principles. Maintain drawing database. Supervise and train CAD staff if applicable. Coordinate work activities to meet schedules and quality standards. Familiarize with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred. 3+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley CAD software. Detail-oriented with a professional attitude, good communication skills, team player, self-starter. Strong work ethic, interpersonal and writing skills, eagerness to learn.
