Overview
Job Responsibilities:
Install wireways supporting cables in submarines. Install cables and electrical components (nuclear and non-nuclear) ranging from large power distribution switchboards to telephones (also includes control, power, electronics, and weapon systems).
Install, tag out, and test ship's lighting.
Hook up cables to electrical components in accordance with NAVSEA methods and procedures, such as hardwire and connectorization.
Groom electrical components for a variety of inspections, and also responsible for providing documentation for every job performed. Mechanics are provided skills, including vulcanization of ship's cables and the installation and maintenance of shipboard temporary services.
Applicants will be tasked to learn power and data/signal cable splicing.

Qualifications Required:
Must have a High School Diploma, GED, have 2+ years of related technical experience or be a current High School Senior
0-5 years of relevant experience
Must be available for all shifts.
Preferred:
Vocational, Technical Colleges, Apprentice programs, Military, Shipbuilding, and Manufacturing experience
Successful completion of the Eastern CT Workforce Investment Board (EWIB) Manufacturing Pipeline Initiative training program
Physical Qualifications Climbing, Color Vision, Crawling, Heavy Lifting, Kneeling, Light Lifting, Medium Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Stooping, Twisting Environmental Attributes
