General Statement of Job:
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for repair work and maintenance for cars, trucks, small engines, and other motor vehicles in the company’s fleet. Essential Job Functions
Maintains vehicles, which may include a company’s fleet of cars, trucks, generators, small equipment, trailers, and other motor vehicles. Performs routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups. Performs tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper function. Identifies mechanical problems either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment. Examines critical parts and systems using a standard checklist. Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts. Plans and establishes timetable to complete repairs and maintenance. Test drives vehicle to confirm safe and proper operation. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education, Experience, and Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Vocational/technical school program or apprenticeship in auto repair or related field required. Two years of related experience preferred. Requires a valid driver’s license in good standing. Standards Of Performance

Maintain initiative to preserve the flow of work. Work with a commitment to deadlines. Sustain interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness, candor, and trust, both internally and externally. Complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain Company information in a confidential manner. Attend work regularly and on time with a minimum of tardiness and absences and adhere to Company policies and procedures regarding absences and tardiness. Provide adequate notice to higher management with respect to vacation time and time-off requests. Willingness to embrace change in a growing company. Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks. Ability to work accurately and independently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to learn new methods and systems required to adapt to changes in the work environment. Accurate, organized and detail oriented with exceptional follow up skills. Mental And Physical Requirements
Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. Must be able to push, pull, bend at the knees and waist, twist body, raise and hold arms overhead, grasp and hold tools and other items with hands, for extended periods or many times throughout the shift. While performing the duties of this position the employee must be able to work in multiple climates and environments including dust, heat, cold, steam, noise, vibrations, grease/oil, fumes, and wet conditions. Tools And Equipment
