DCS Corp is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented, energetic, and customer-focused Mechanical Engineer to support our Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) customers located at the U.S. Army’s Warren, MI location. This role involves working at DCS’s Sterling Heights location alongside Project Leads, Engineers, and Technicians, with the core responsibility of leading mechanical design efforts for Ground Vehicle Power and Mobility. Essential Job Functions: Provide mechanical engineering support to GVSC customers and engage directly throughout all project execution phases. Lead mechanical design for high voltage components and ground vehicle integration, including CAD design and simulation analysis. Conduct design review meetings and provide status updates to project managers. Develop mechanical drawing data packages and assembly documentation. Create and issue work orders and purchase requisitions. Collaborate with a cross-functional team during design, documentation, and testing phases. Provide leadership support and technical guidance during assembly and integration efforts. Required Skills: U.S. citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements. Minimum of 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Secret security clearance. At least 2 years of CAD experience developing part and assembly level designs (SolidWorks preferred). Knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to confirm part drawing manufacturability. Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work with a cross-functional team. Desired Skills: Project management skills. CAE simulation experience for thermal and shock & vibration studies. Familiarity with standard drawing practices per Mil-Std-31000, ASME Y14.100, and ASME Y14.5. Interpretation and application of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing. Experience using overhead cranes, forklifts, and machine shop equipment; willingness to get hands-on.
