Overview The Nucor Technical Academy is a training program designed to teach electrical maintenance fundamentals and to train a person with a high school diploma (or GED) to the level of a maintenance electrician within a two-year (27 month) training period. The training program combines classroom instruction with structured hands-on training to prepare the person to enter the workforce as a Maintenance Electrician. Responsibilities will include hands-on assignments working with experienced Nucor Maintenance Team Members.

Responsibilities
Participate in a structured training program with classroom and on-the-job components to develop maintenance electrician skills.
Complete hands-on assignments under the guidance of experienced maintenance team members.
Relocate to Tuscaloosa, Alabama for initial training, with opportunities to return to sponsoring divisions between semesters; five continuous semesters in Tuscaloosa during the program.
Training Program Requirements
Current high school transcript (2.75 GPA preferred), including the first semester of your senior year in high school.
ACT, SAT, or Accuplacer scores: upload to the application packet if available; if not available, provide before interview.
One-page essay explaining how your work history, activities, or other interests make you a good candidate for this training program, including your career or educational goals.
