Work will consist of installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Is directly responsible for leading and working along with a crew which consists of Journeyman and/or helpers. This person would organize the work and make certain the materials/tools/equipment, and information are on the jobsite. Plans work and schedules Completes required paperwork and coding Initiates and monitors safety program Demonstrates efficient knowledge of trade Coordinates with other trades Prepares detail drawings for job Coordinates with the Project Manager Has direct communication with the General Contractor Conducts inspections Evaluates fellow employees Possess skills of lower E Rating Job Title (E 7, E 6, E 5, E-4, E 3, E 2, E 1) SKILLS: Positively identify colors of wires. Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same. Bend conduit by hand with hand benders. Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches. Capable of digging trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment. Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoe, lift trucks in a safe manner. Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy. Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers. Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission. Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written instructions. Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas powered). Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Safety Policy. Supervise assigned job site employees to complete project. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250lbs, Class 2-300lbs). Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead. Lift 51 pounds, 20 times per day. Constantly move about on the feet. Climb ladders of all types. Complete full day assignments involving overhead work. Must be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use. Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Must be capable of securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks. Possess good hearing, normal or corrected. Must be able to positively identify different colors of wiring. WORKING CONDITIONS: May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces; work at all elevations including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site.
