Civil Engineer - Sports at Actalent
We are seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to design detailed civil site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, drainage systems, and roadways for sports facilities. The successful candidate will produce construction documents and support design packages using AutoCAD Civil 3D, working closely with project managers, architects, and civil engineers to integrate civil design elements with overall project plans.
Responsibilities
Design detailed civil site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, drainage systems, and roadways for sports facilities.
Produce construction documents and support design packages, including site plans, details, and profiles using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Work closely with project managers, architects, and civil engineers to integrate civil design elements with overall project plans.
Ensure compliance with applicable zoning laws, environmental regulations, and permitting requirements.
Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimating efforts.
Revise designs and plans based on client feedback, field conditions, and agency comments.
Participate in on-site visits and construction reviews as needed.
Stay current on industry trends, technology, and best practices in sports facility design.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utilities, and site development.
Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting and land development processes.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and collaborate within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting & Design, or related field.
3+ years of civil design experience, preferably with projects in sports, recreation, or large‑scale commercial site development.
Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
Experience with sports facility, athletic complex design, or construction site experience is a plus.
Work Environment The position is based in Meriden, Kansas, and is non‑remote. The work environment is fast‑paced and team‑oriented, with opportunities to engage in leading‑edge sports facility projects.
Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Meriden, KS.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.24 - $49.33/hr.
