About the Role We are seeking a CAD Drafter to support our growing team. You will produce detailed HVAC and sheet metal drawings that support our fabrication and installation teams. This contract role is expected to last 3–6 months.
Responsibilities
Prepare and update shop drawings, layouts, and fabrication details for HVAC systems, ductwork, and sheet metal assemblies.
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and installers to ensure designs meet project requirements and site conditions.
Generate clear and accurate drawings for fabrication and field installation.
Revise and maintain drawing files, ensuring proper version control.
Ensure compliance with industry codes, SMACNA standards, and project specifications.
Assist in creating as‑built drawings for project closeout packages.
Qualifications
Associate's degree or certificate in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM tools is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and ability to visualize HVAC and sheet metal systems.
Familiarity with HVAC terminology, ductwork standards, and mechanical symbols.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
2+ years of drafting experience in HVAC, sheet metal, or mechanical contracting.
Knowledge of prefabrication processes and shop drawing production.
Experience with SMACNA standards and local building codes.
