Construction Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) – Federal/Military Projects (USACE/NAVFAC)
Base pay range: $100,000.00/yr – $135,000.00/yr
Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO)
Overview:
We are hiring an experienced SSHO to manage site safety on federal construction projects for USACE and NAVFAC. The SSHO ensures full compliance with the Accident Prevention Plan and EM 385-1-1 standards, driving proactive jobsite safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
Conduct daily site inspections and lead toolbox talks
Develop and maintain AHAs and safety documentation
Coordinate closely with Superintendent and QCM on safety matters
Conduct incident investigations and maintain OSHA 300 logs
Maintain SDS library and safety records onsite
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent safety/construction experience
10+ years of safety experience in construction (federal preferred)
SSHO experience on USACE/NAVFAC projects required
OSHA 30 and relevant safety certifications (e.g., confined space, fall protection)
24+ hours/year of formal safety training in the last 4 years
