The

Civil Engineer II

will support the Design Team by performing professional engineering work, including routine tasks involving standard techniques, procedures, and criteria under close supervision.

The primary responsibility of the

Civil Engineer II

is to manage project engineering and document control from the site field office, focusing on schedule, budget updates, correspondence logs, and requests for information.

Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities:

Prepare design computations, plans, and related construction documents.

Prepare reports, specifications, studies, and permits.

Analyze and interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Assist in analyzing and interpreting engineering and construction documents, journals, procedures, and regulations.

Prepare quantity calculations and cost estimates.

Create engineering and design documents using CAD software.

Perform construction observation and document findings.

Organize and maintain project files and documentation.

Assist in preparing and presenting technical information to colleagues and clients.

Support Project, Design, and Office Managers as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering required.

3-6 years of relevant experience required; EIT certification required.

Master’s degree preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in advanced calculus, algebra, and statistics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to interpret complex documents and respond effectively.

Intermediate computer skills including email, databases, word processing, and spreadsheets.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, handle objects, climb, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.

Working Conditions:

Fieldwork with a company vehicle provided.

Must be physically capable of working on construction sites and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Occasional overtime, including weekends, may be required.

Indoor work includes reviewing blueprints and reports.

Standard 40-hour workweek, with some outdoor exposure.
