Temporary Senior Engineer, Technology Operations Center
KPMG US is seeking a Temporary Senior Engineer for a nine‑month assignment within our Digital Nexus technology organization. This hybrid work opportunity supports 24x7 monitoring and incident response for our Technology Operations Center. Responsibilities
Monitor infrastructure, applications, and network systems using tools such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, and Squaredup. Respond to alerts and incidents, perform initial triage, and escalates as necessary. Maintain situational awareness of the IT environment and provide real‑time updates to stakeholders. Collaborate with support teams to resolve issues and restore services quickly. Participate in shift rotations for round‑the‑clock coverage. Support change enablement activities and ensure proper validation and communication. Generate and distribute operational reports and metrics. Continuously improve monitoring and alerting capabilities. Escalate incidents to appropriate engineering disciplines or external vendors to achieve resolution. Use standard runbooks to mitigate or resolve incidents and support requests. Track incidents from inception to resolution, including root‑cause analysis and process improvements. Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environment. Qualifications
Minimum three years of recent experience in IT operations, NOC/TOC, or systems monitoring. Bachelor’s degree preferred; high‑school diploma or GED acceptable. Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA Network+ are a plus. Experience with technologies such as IIS, VMware, Cisco routers/switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Knowledge of monitoring platforms and analysis applications (ServiceNow, SolarWinds, SCOM, Uptrends, Squaredup). Familiarity with SQL and Oracle databases is a plus. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment, attention to detail, and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with peers.
